Eyes closed, shiny dots appeared in her mind, resembling a close starry night

Maria Violato
Born in 2002, she studies Painting and Visual Arts at NABA in Milan. She first approached art through sounds and writing: she sees art as a sort of healing process, a possibility to transform pain and trauma into something else. She enjoys experimenting with colors and finds great inspiration in nature.
To create this version of the Technogym Bench the artist explored it with her senses, sitting on it with her eyes closed. Shiny dots appeared in her mind, resembling a close starry night: this is where the title of the work, Close Stars, originates. In line with her view of writing as a liberating act, she included a series of poems painted on lightweight fabric wrapped around the dumbbells.

Design to Move
A special exhibition held at Technogym Milano during 2024 Design Week, Design to Move explores the unique and profound connection between design and wellness, style and functionality, emotional and tangible. The exclusive Technogym Bench collection, beyond its functional use, serves as an artistic expression and a symbol of social responsibility. After being showcased at Milan Design Week, the creations will be auctioned off in collaboration with Sotheby's and sold on technogym.com. All profits will be donated to UNICEF*.
