Moritz Wagner’s road to recovery with Technogym
After a serious ACL injury, NBA player Moritz Wagner is undergoing a structured, tech-powered rehabilitation journey, guided by expert care and supported by Technogym’s elite equipment.
In December, Moritz Wagner’s season was abruptly interrupted by a complete rupture of his left ACL: an injury that not only sidelined him physically but also challenged him mentally. For the Orlando Magic center, whose game depends on agility and explosive movement, the path to recovery would require more than just time: it would demand structure, precision, and a high-performance support system.
Wagner began his rehabilitation in Berlin under the guidance of physiotherapist and performance coach Jessica Ryan. The early stages focused on reducing inflammation, restoring joint mobility, and preventing muscle atrophy. But equally important was establishing a consistent and motivating environment that could support his recovery both in Europe and later in the United States.

To bridge that gap, Wagner’s team turned to Technogym, both for its professional equipment and its connected ecosystem, a comprehensive suite of smart products and digital tools that allowed them to replicate a professional training facility in his home. This setup included the Technogym Ride, a high-performance indoor bike used daily for warm-ups, conditioning, and recovery. Its integrated screen and app connectivity provided Wagner with visual feedback and even allowed him to watch game highlights during sessions, boosting both motivation and focus.
