Technogym presents “The Art of Wellness”
Technogym's exclusive exhibition on the history of wellness design and the book, published by Assouline, on the artistic approach of the brand that transformed fitness products into objects of art

“The Art of Wellness” exhibition
The exhibition first offers a retrospective of the tools that have inspired today's wellness and sports products such as:
The cavallina (vaulting horse) that originated in Roman times, when soldiers used wooden structures to simulate mounting a horse, which then evolved in the Middle Ages still in the context of military training. In the 19th century, the German pedagogue Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, the father of modern gymnastics, introduced the vaulting horse that we know today (wooden base, metal core, covered in padded material and leather) and made it a standard element of gymnastics.
The exercise bike is another element that has very ancient historical roots. The first official patent dates to 1796 and is attributed to Francis Lowndes, who developed the first stationary bicycle for domestic exercise. In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries - due to the growing popularity of the bicycle as a form of transport - numerous machines for winter training were developed. In the 20th century, the exercise bike began to evolve with the incorporation of electronics and resistance control, up to today's smart bikes connected to interactive training apps.

The exhibition will then go through Technogym's 40 years of innovation - from biomechanics to digital to artificial intelligence - to the introduction of the new vision of Healthness. The ability to predict diseases before they occur will in fact be the greatest revolution of our time, and today Technogym, thanks to AI and the trillions of data collected in its ecosystem, is able to prescribe Precision Training programmes with a personalised posology and lifestyle anywhere: at home, at the gym, at the hotel, at work, at the doctor's.
