Stoke by Nayland Resort Reimagines Member Wellness with Technogym Refurbishment
Set on 300 acres in the Dedham Vale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Stoke by Nayland has elevated its wellness offer with a Technogym-powered gym refurbishment that puts digital innovation at the heart of the member experience.
As well as a spectacular setting Stoke By Nayland offers two championship golf courses, hotel bedrooms, a luxury spa, and extensive leisure facilities including the Peake Fitness gym. Liam Clayton, Head of Golf and Leisure, explains how the project was brought to life.
Technogym have been equipment partners of choice for the gym since its opening, and the Stoke by Nayland team used the opportunity of a planned refurbishment to bring in the latest developments in equipment, digital, and AI-powered innovations.
“We were excited to elevate our offering and give our members a thoughtful refurbishment that centred wellness and health,” said Liam. “We worked closely with Technogym to choose the best combination of their most recent innovations."
The aim was to reimagine the member journey around a wellness-first philosophy that would engage every demographic. By reconfiguring the space, introducing new innovative products, and creating new open functional zones, Stoke by Nayland created a free-flowing and versatile fitness space.

The aim was to reimagine the member journey around a wellness-first philosophy that would engage every demographic. By reconfiguring the space, introducing new innovative products, and creating new open functional zones, Stoke by Nayland created a free-flowing and versatile fitness space.
Elevating training with Technogym innovation
Techmogym have been partners to Stoke by Nayland’s gym space since it was added to the resort, and the relationship has grown through several refurbishments. The Technogym team supported with space planning, product selection, after sales care, and ongoing education to add value to the resort’s gym team and members.
The equipment mix was chosen to optimise the space and respond to member demand for more strength and functional training. Technogym Excite offered a natural upgrade to previous cardio equipment, with a smaller footprint, intuitive design, and access to Technogym Sessions – trainer led on-demand workout content.
The installation of the Universe Cage created a functional training hub and provided essential new storage, while the Dual Adjustable Pulley and a larger free weights area gives members the strength-training options they had been asking for.
Introducing Technogym Skill Line products gives members a fresh choice of cardio equipment packed with content, data-gathering, and performance training possibilities. Liam says that the new Technogym Skillup has been one of the most popular additions to the gym.
In a strong commitment to innovation, Liam decided to replace all traditional strength machines with AI-driven Technogym Biostrength, creating a mini-gym area of eight Biostrength units. The adaptive resistance technology allows every member to train safely and effectively with the machines automatically adjusting to the user when they log in.
“The introduction of Biostrength was a bold move,” said Liam, “but feedback has been brilliant and I’m glad we made the decision. Biostrength is the future of strength training, and we are proud to offer it here.”

At induction, members now have AI-driven assessment station Technogym Checkup, which delivers insights across body composition, mobility, balance, strength, and cardiovascular health. The results generate personalised programmes into Technogym App. Liam and his team are also leveraging Technogym Checkup at key points of the member journey to drive retention and keep members engaged.
Technogym App is now fully integrated into club operations, managing sign-ups, tracking workouts, and supporting personalised communication. This has already led to a significant increase in engagement. Members also benefit from Technogym Sessions on Excite Live cardio machines, giving them access to on-demand classes, while Visio units on the gym floor offer instant workout content for inspiration.
